Cooling process designs must be tailored to specific tunnel face excavation progress, geological conditions, wind exposure, and equipment to economically and effectively address heat hazards while minimizing impact on production. Working Principle

Based on the refrigeration system principle, low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant undergoes heat exchange with surrounding water in the evaporator. The evaporator absorbs heat from the water, causing the refrigerant to evaporate into a low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous state. During evaporation, the refrigerant temperature remains unchanged. The low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous refrigerant then enters the compressor, where it is compressed into a high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous state. It subsequently moves into the condenser, where it exchanges heat with the indoor medium. Part of the heat from the high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous refrigerant is absorbed by the medium, raising its temperature, while the refrigerant releases heat and condenses into a high-temperature, high-pressure liquid in the condenser, with the temperature remaining constant during this process. The refrigerant then passes through an expansion valve for throttling, a rapid cooling process that turns it into a low-temperature, low-pressure liquid. This refrigerant re-enters the evaporator for heat exchange and evaporation, completing the refrigeration cycle. This cycle continues uninterrupted to provide consistent cooling. The cooled air is then delivered to the required work surface via a fan through the air outlet.

Tunnel Geothermal Cooling Fan Selection

Tunnel geothermal cooling fans are divided into split-type and integrated units. Split-type units are suitable for space cooling, installed similarly to household air conditioners, with the condenser mounted outdoors and the main unit indoors. Tunnel cooling typically uses integrated units, with the refrigeration main unit placed in the middle section of the tunnel, 100-150 meters from the worker's operation face. An insulated air duct equipped with a booster fan ensures that the temperature and air volume from the cooling fan are maintained. The heat from the cooling fan's condenser is dissipated outside the tunnel via an exhaust fan, providing fresh air. Other spaces can also be configured for recirculated air.
